This is correct with regular verbs. But it may not be valid with irregular verbs based on the tense. For example, I am going to school. Here the Root is ‘go’.

The Third Person Singular like she/he/it/one conjugation is the form of the verb that is dissimilar from other conjugations. This type of verb ends in‘s’ or sometimes ‘es’. For instance, she sees, he watches, one does, etc.

The present participle verb type is built by attaching ‘ing’ to the root word. The present participle verb is applied in the past, present, and future progressive verb tenses. Take the examples below:

They are going to the party tonight.

(Go-Going)

They have been working for hours.

(Work-Working)

The past and past participle kinds of the verb are for regular verbs. Its root word ends with ‘ed’. It is applied to the past tenses only. For example, she shopped for hours on Sunday afternoon. (Shop – Shopped)

The past participle verb type is complex to conclude for irregular verbs. It will be best to search for these using a dictionary in case you are not sure of the past participle. Look at the few patterns of irregular verbs:

Root-Simple Past-Past Participle

See-Saw-Seen

Sing-Sang-Sung

Give-Gave-Given

Fall-Fell-Fallen

Go-Went-Gone

Usually, the verbs are Regular Verbs. These regular verbs have their past tense and past participles. Both of these are crafted by attaching ‘d’ or an ‘ed’ of the verb.

Regular Verbs Examples:
