Then Threatens Even Bigger Bombing Campaign

President Donald Trump began the weekend with a series of posts threatening further military action against Iran, claiming the country had effectively surrendered under pressure from U.S. and Israeli attacks.

In an early morning message on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Iran had apologized to neighboring countries following the recent wave of military strikes across the Middle East.

“Iran, which is being beat to hell, has apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors,” Trump wrote, claiming the change in Iran’s stance was the result of sustained U.S. and Israeli military pressure.

Despite that claim, Trump suggested that additional strikes could still be carried out, warning that Iran could face even more severe military action.

“Today Iran will be hit very hard,” Trump wrote, adding that areas not previously considered targets could now face possible attack.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the situation in a televised statement earlier Saturday, apologizing to neighboring countries for Iran’s retaliatory strikes following the initial U.S.-Israeli military operation.

Pezeshkian said Iran would avoid targeting other countries in the region as long as attacks against Iran were not launched from their territory.

“I apologize to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran,” Pezeshkian said, adding that Iran would take necessary steps to defend itself if further attacks occur.

Trump also claimed that governments across the region were praising the U.S. military campaign, though he did not provide evidence to support the assertion.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials warned that further American strikes could trigger additional retaliation. In a statement, Pezeshkian’s office said Iran would respond decisively to any new attacks launched from U.S. bases in the region.

The latest exchange comes one week after Trump ordered the initial strikes against Iran, launching a military conflict that has already caused significant casualties.

According to reports, six U.S. service members have been killed, while more than 1,300 Iranians have died since the fighting began.

Trump acknowledged earlier this week that casualties were likely as the conflict continues.

“When you go to war, some people will die,” the president said in remarks responding to questions about the possibility of further escalation.

The situation remains volatile as both sides continue to exchange threats and military activity across the region intensifies.
