MAGA Meltdown: Trump Sparks Fury After Launching Iran Strike Without Congressional Approval

President Donald Trump is facing intense backlash from members of his own MAGA base after launching a military strike on Iran without congressional approval, a move that he acknowledged could result in American casualties.

The overnight operation targeted Iranian nuclear facilities and military assets, with Trump declaring in an eight-minute address that the mission aimed to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program and pressure the regime toward collapse. The president warned that “the lives of courageous American heroes may be lost” but defended the action as necessary for long-term security.

The strike immediately triggered criticism from prominent conservative voices who have long opposed U.S. involvement in new foreign wars. Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson called the move “absolutely disgusting and evil” during an appearance on ABC.

Right-wing commentator Andrew Tate wrote on social media, “Nobody wants this war,” while Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna urged Americans to pray for U.S. service members and civilians affected by the conflict.

Other figures were more blunt. Political activist Milo Yiannopoulos condemned the decision in explicit terms, and far-right commentator Nick Fuentes posted, “NO WAR WITH IRAN. AMERICA FIRST.”

The attack was carried out without prior authorization from Congress, raising legal concerns among lawmakers from both parties. Representative Thomas Massie noted that acts of war require congressional approval under the Constitution and reiterated his push for legislation limiting unilateral military action.

Vice President JD Vance had sought to calm concerns just hours before the strike, telling reporters there was “no chance” the U.S. would enter a prolonged war without a clear objective. The scale of the operation, however, suggests a significant escalation.

Trump justified the action by arguing that Iran had refused to abandon its nuclear ambitions. He also called on Iranian citizens to overthrow their government once military operations conclude.

The strike marks the second major U.S. military action against Iran in less than a year. Last June, Trump claimed U.S. forces had “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear facilities. In his latest address, he again said the program would be “totally obliterated.”

Iran responded swiftly, launching missiles and drones targeting Israel and U.S. military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement declaring it “will not hesitate” to defend the country against what it described as military aggression.

The unfolding conflict highlights growing divisions within Trump’s political coalition, particularly among anti-interventionist conservatives who had backed his earlier promises to avoid new foreign wars.
