Pam Bondi Moves to Military Base Housing After Reported Security Threats
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has reportedly relocated from her Washington, D.C., apartment to housing on a nearby U.S. military base after authorities identified an increase in threats against her, according to a report citing federal officials.
The move occurred within the past month as federal law enforcement agencies monitored a rise in security concerns directed at Bondi.
Some of the threats were reportedly linked to criticism over her handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein as well as tensions following the reported abduction of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro earlier this year.
Bondi is not the only Trump administration official to move into military housing for security reasons. Other officials who have reportedly used similar accommodations include Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, Pete Hegseth, Army Secretary Daniel P. Driscoll, and Navy Secretary John Phelan.
Officials have not publicly disclosed whether Bondi or others living in the military housing are paying for the accommodations. In a previous case, a spokesperson for Noem said she was paying “fair-market rent” for her residence on a base.
Security concerns have also followed other officials in the administration. At his previous home in Arlington, Virginia, Miller faced organized protests from a local activist group that placed posters and sidewalk messages criticizing his immigration policies.
Critics say the use of military housing for political appointees could carry additional costs, including base security and renovations needed to prepare residences. In some cases, the homes are traditionally reserved for military personnel.
The Justice Department and the White House have not publicly commented in detail on Bondi’s relocation or the specific threats that led to the move.
