Trump Reacts to Grammys Moment, Threatens Lawsuit Over Trevor Noah’s On-Air Joke

Donald Trump lashed out at the 2026 Grammy Awards moments after the CBS telecast ended, blasting the show as “virtually unwatchable” and targeting host Trevor Noah over a joke referencing Trump’s past association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump accused Noah of making a “false and defamatory” claim on air after the comedian quipped that Trump had been to Epstein’s island. Trump forcefully denied that, writing that he has “never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” and said he had never previously been accused of being there.

Trump’s post focused heavily on Noah, calling him “a total loser” and comparing him to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. He also threatened potential legal action, writing that he would be “sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.” and warning Noah to “get his facts straight, and get them straight fast.”

The remark that set off Trump’s reaction came after Billie Eilish won Song of the Year for “Wildflower.” During the live broadcast, Noah joked: “That’s a Grammy that every artist wants — almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”

Trump denied the insinuation and said he could not “speak for Bill,” but insisted the claim about him was untrue. He did not comment directly on Eilish’s win in his post.

Notably, Trump also avoided mentioning one of the night’s biggest milestones: Bad Bunny’s Album of the Year victory for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” the first Spanish-language album to take the Grammys’ top prize. The win came just days before Bad Bunny’s scheduled Super Bowl halftime performance — a booking Trump had previously criticized.

In an October appearance on NewsMax’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” Trump said of Bad Bunny: “I’ve never heard of him. I don’t know who he is… I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy.”

Trump’s Truth Social post quickly circulated online, adding a political flashpoint to a Grammy night that was already drawing attention for its jokes, historic wins and high-profile performances.
