Andhra Pradesh Assembly-BAC (Business Advisory Committee) meeting will start in Amaravati on Wednesday. Chief Minister-YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Legislative Affairs Minister-Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Minister Kannababu, Chief Whip-Srikanth Reddy and Atchannaidu from TDP were present in the BAC meeting.
The meeting will be presided by Speaker Tammeneni Sitaram where the leaders will be discussing the Assembly Budget session. The meeting is scheduled from tomorrow and over how many days to manage the Assembly meetings.
In the BAC meeting that happened, the decision was taken to organize 14 days of Assembly sessions. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly‘s Business Advisory Committee (BAC) decided that the budget session of the Assembly will be held from July 11 to July 30.
The session will function for 14 days except for the weekend holidays that are Saturdays and Sundays.
Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy will present the budget on July 12. On the same day, agriculture minister K Kannababu will put forward the Agriculture Budget.
The ruling YSR Congress has over 20 items in the line, including its flagship welfare schemes, for debate in the Assembly. The government would come up with no less than 10 bills for legislation.
On the whole, the BAC meeting used to hold on the first day of the assembly session. But, the YSRCP government organized it one day before the session.
The Opposition party has asked for a debate on drought situation on Thursday, for which the government has approved.
The special session of the Andhra Pradesh assembly started on Monday a while ago. The speaker of the assembly Tammeneni Sitaram addressed the house. He recalled the Thursday’s proceeding wherein the house has conversed concerning the council proceedings on the three capital bills organized on last Wednesday.
The speaker also declared that the house has lengthened to Monday on the advice of chief minister and with the consent of members of the house to debate on the repeal of the legislative council. But, the speaker has adjourned the house to consider the BAC meeting to converse the agenda of the house.
The BAC would settle on how much time to be granted for the debate on the repeal of the council bill in the house. Earlier, the cabinet has permitted the draft bill to eliminate the legislative council. The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting that took place here on Monday.
