The White House fired back Thursday after former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene declared what she called the “end of MAGA” in a blistering social media post criticizing President Donald Trump’s foreign policy direction.
Greene, who resigned from her Georgia congressional seat earlier this year, was once one of Trump’s most loyal allies. She campaigned alongside him during the 2024 election cycle and strongly backed his positions on immigration, trade and the economy. But over the past year, she has grown increasingly critical of the administration — particularly over foreign policy and its handling of the Epstein files.

In a post on X, Greene accused Trump of abandoning his anti-war stance and aligning himself with interventionist conservatives.
“This is the Trump I supported, the man who called out the truth about the WMD in Iraq and declared NO MORE FOREIGN WARS,” Greene wrote. “Now for some unknown reason, Trump has joined the neocons and will soon go to war against Iran with the same BS excuses. End of MAGA.”
Her post included a clip from a 2016 Republican primary debate in which Trump criticized the Iraq War, calling it a costly mistake.
The White House responded swiftly. Spokesperson Davis Ingle issued a statement dismissing Greene’s remarks.
“President Trump is the unequivocal leader of the Republican Party,” Ingle said. “Marjorie Taylor Greene is a former congresswoman, traitor, and a quitter.”
Foreign policy has become a growing point of tension between Greene and the administration. She has repeatedly urged an “America First” approach and warned that any new military involvement abroad — particularly in Iran — would alienate Trump’s political base.
In recent months, Greene has also broken with the administration over U.S. policy toward Israel and Gaza, becoming the first elected Republican to describe Israel’s actions in Gaza as a genocide — a stance that placed her at odds with much of her party.
Trump himself has previously lashed out at Greene, accusing her of shifting positions and questioning her loyalty to the MAGA movement.
The clash highlights widening fractures within the Republican Party as lawmakers and former allies position themselves ahead of the midterm elections. A special election to fill Greene’s former congressional seat is scheduled for March 10.
