‘Dead by June’: Trump Stuns Crowd by Revealing GOP Lawmaker’s ‘Terminal Diagnosis’ During Press Event

Donald Trump sparked surprise during a public appearance Monday after revealing private medical details about a Republican congressman while speaking to reporters.

During an impromptu press briefing ahead of a scheduled lunch with board members of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Trump praised Mike Johnson for maintaining party unity in the United States House of Representatives despite a narrow Republican majority.
While discussing the challenges of managing such a slim margin, Johnson mentioned Neal Dunn, saying the Florida lawmaker had continued working despite serious health issues and a “pretty grim diagnosis.”

Trump then interrupted to ask about Dunn’s condition before unexpectedly revealing that the congressman had previously been given what he described as a terminal diagnosis.
“He would be dead by June,” Trump said during the exchange, prompting Johnson to quickly respond, “Okay, that wasn’t public.”
Johnson went on to explain that Trump had personally contacted Dunn and helped arrange for him to receive specialized medical treatment through doctors connected to the White House Medical Unit and physicians at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
According to Johnson, Dunn underwent treatment soon after the intervention and has since recovered significantly.
“The man has a new lease on life,” Johnson said, adding that Dunn appeared dramatically improved when he recently returned to a House Republican conference meeting.
Trump later described how Johnson had told him the congressman had a “really bad heart” and little hope for recovery before White House doctors stepped in.
Dunn announced earlier this year that he would not seek reelection in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District but has said he intends to finish his current term in Congress.
House Republicans have been operating with a very slim majority, making each member’s presence critical for passing legislation. Speaker Johnson has frequently faced challenges keeping the GOP conference unified during key votes.
Trump’s unexpected disclosure of Dunn’s medical details during a live press event quickly drew attention, as lawmakers and staff appeared surprised that the information had been made public.
