‘They’re Out of Control’: Trump Melts Down Over Poll Numbers, Threatens Media Accountability

President Donald Trump escalated his attacks on polling organizations and major media outlets on Sunday, accusing them of publishing “fake” and “fraudulent” polls designed to undermine his presidency.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump claimed recent surveys showing his approval rating in the low 40s are deliberately manipulated, despite what he described as historic achievements on the economy and border security.

“Something has to be done about Fake Polls! They are truly OUT OF CONTROL,” Trump wrote. He argued that the United States currently has “the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country” and “the Strongest Border in History,” insisting that no president has performed better than he has.

Trump said negative polling on issues such as the economy, immigration and healthcare is politically motivated. He accused Democrats of having “destroyed Healthcare” and claimed he is working to repair it, while media outlets allegedly suppress polling data that reflects more positively on his administration.

“The REAL Polls have been GREAT, but they refuse to print them,” he wrote.

The president went on to compare pollsters and journalists to corrupt writers, singling out The New York Times and accusing multiple outlets of knowingly publishing false information. He said the media has become “deranged” and suffering from what he again called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Trump also referenced an ongoing lawsuit he has filed against media organizations, arguing that they must “pay a price for fake and fraudulent news.” He suggested the legal action is advancing through the courts and expressed hope that media accountability would follow.

The post comes amid continued scrutiny of Trump’s approval ratings and growing public debate over the credibility of polling data ahead of the midterm election cycle.

Media organizations and polling firms have consistently defended their methodologies, noting that polling is an imperfect but established tool for measuring public opinion and that fluctuations are normal during contentious political periods.
