The First English Settlement In India To Be Fortified Was – It was about the year 1640’s the early year that is known as the commercial expansion, the east India Company constructed one of the known Citadel called as the Fort St George in Madras.

The full and final completion of the fort took place on April 23, 1664, and the total cost was around £3,000.
